From The Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales, (1870-72):
An inland county; bounded on the NE, the E, and the SE, by Cambridgeshire; on the SW, by Bedfordshire; on the W, the NW, and the N, by Northamptonshire.
The county town is Huntingdon; the towns with upwards of 2,000 inhabitants are Huntingdon, Godmanchester, St. Ives, St. Neots, and Ramsey; and the market-towns are these and Kimbolton.
Also known as Huntingdon, Hunts.
