Highland resort Braemar is in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is in the historic county also called Aberdeenshire. (For more information about the ancient counties of the UK, see the historic counties page and the place types page.) The community is on the Clunie Water.
Robert Louis Stevenson started work on "Treasure Island" while staying here in 1881.
