Clydebank is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It is in the historic county of Dunbartonshire. (For more information about the ancient counties of the UK, see the historic counties page and the place types page.)
The Singer company built a large sewing machine factory here in the 1880s.
The town was long a centre for shipbuilding. The Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth and QE2 launched here. Some 1,200 people were killed here during German bombings in 1941.
