Mumbles is in Swansea, Wales. It is in the historic county of Glamorgan. (For more information about the ancient counties of the UK, see the historic counties page and the place types page.)

The community is on the Gower Peninsula.
The area known as Mumbles encompasses the communities of Oystermouth, Newton, Norton and West Cross.
One tradition says that Mumbles was named for the presence of two islands that resembled breasts - "mamma" in Latin or "mamelles" in French.
Also known as Mwmbwl, The Mumbles.
